Marta was born in Madrid and grew up in Santander (Northern Spain). She was a study abroad student in the US in her senior high school year. She started university in Santander and then transferred to the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland where she earned a BA Hons. in European Business Studies. She interned for six months in a N. Irish company´s International exports department in her junior year and then worked in marketing for another N. Irish company for two more years after graduation. Returning to Spain, she taught ESL, International and Strategic Marketing for a British University program and later in a Business School. She has worked at SLU-Madrid since 2006.
