Group Flight Program

Spring 2010 – January 9th, 2010 departure

Please find below the group flight program information for the Spring 2010 semester. Our partner, IBERIA, has presented a competitive proposal that we hope will suit your travel needs for come-in and –out Madrid, Spain. Our travel packet includes the following:

• Round-trip ticket airfare (please see the below table for prices)
• Shuttle bus service from the University to the airport for your return flight at the end of the semester
• Flight insurance*
• Group flight confirmation letter to present with your student visa application
  

Please note that all students are responsible for their transportation once they arrive in Madrid. However, there will be university representatives on hand to welcome students arriving on the group flight. Students should not report to the university until January 11, 2010 for orientation.

Here are some things to consider as you look at the ticket options:

1. The roundtrip tickets are being offered from two hubs in the U.S.: Chicago and New York. If you do not live in any of these locations, it is your responsibility to arrange connecting transportation. More than ten well known airlines fly to O’Hare in Chicago and to JFK in New York.
2. Please note that the tickets will only be issued for the travel dates indicated – no alternative travel dates are available.
3. Tickets may be purchased on-line https://apply.madrid.slu.edu/groupflights.  If you have questions, please contact groupflights@madrid.slu.edu.
   
4. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
   
5. As a standard policy for group flights, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

*Please note that this is a group flight that the University has organized. As we are not an airline or travel agency, you will not be eligible for mileage or insurance benefits provided by your credit card company. On the other hand, you will be covered by a private insurance company in Spain during the flight. This coverage includes: Loss of luggage: 300€; Medical assistance: 6,000€; Repatriation of remains: Unlimited.
