On June 12, the SLU Madrid Communication Department hosted a guest lecture by the internationally recognized scholar, Dr. Cameron R. McCarthy, from the College of Education of University of Illinois at Urbana: “Wrestling with the Future in the Vocabularies of Tradition: Reflections on Field Research on the Globalizing Circumstances of British Grammar Schools in Barbados.” The lecture was a homecoming of sorts, as Dr. McCarthy spent the 2007-08 academic year as a visiting faculty member at SLU-Madrid.
