Recently on May 8th there was an awards ceremony at the Universidad Autónoma to honor the winners of the 6th Concurso de Microrrelatos (short story writing contest), organized by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Saint Louis University - Madrid Campus. The contest was open to the university communities of both institutions and it had a surprisingly high number of submissions, about 200 stories. The winner was "Espantapájaros", by Roberto Guillén Alonso. Among the seven finalists was "Penumbra", by Yolanda Calvo, who works in the Office of Finance at SLU - Madrid.
