SLU Madrid Campus 2012 Writing Prizes
The Manresa Writing Prize, which recognizes excellence in academic writing, was awarded to Laura de Socarraz-Novoa for ‘The Politics of Landscape: Claude Monet and his Water Lilies’. Nada Tahiri’s ‘The Rise and Success of Feminism in Morocco’ received recognition as runner-up, and honorable mention went to Ignacio Perez Pozuelo for ‘Motor cortical hyperexcitability in focal myoclonus of adult-onset celiac disease (CD). A Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) study’.
The Loyola Writing Prize recognizes high quality achievement in creative writing (fiction and non-fiction) in English; Ardena Gonzalez’s ‘Free Mother’ was awarded top place in that category, with Annabelle Wilmott’s ‘Travels with the Monster-in-Law’ chosen as runner-up. The faculty judges of the awards commend these students for their in-depth exploration of topics through enjoyable, thoughtful and original writing.
