Some experiences are life changing and some decisions we make in our lives put us in places we never thought we would have been! Last week, 7 students who were volunteering their time all semester for the NGO T-Oigo.com, were special guests at a reception held at the US Embassy. This event was held in recognition of the work that our students among other volunteers do to help kids with hearing loss learn English. During the gathering some of these kids and their families sang songs, danced and spoke about their experiences in the program.
Our students, coming from very different backgrounds, learned to use their talents to make a difference in their community. They admit that at times this commitment was time consuming and it meant having to work a bit harder for their classes but as one of our students shared with the attendees she “would do it all over again”!
