
RoboMadness

Two recent graduates from Saint Louis University, Ángel Hernández and Carlos Kaiser have started an ambitious project called RoboMadness. This enterprise aims to integrate the world of robotics, especially Social and Marketing robots, into the business world. This project started as an exciting SLU students idea, but it has become a serious and awarded initiative.
In less than 6 months, RoboMadness has won three different tournaments, two of them with well known international reputation.
This August, RoboMadness participated in a national tournament called "Campus Héroes" in Spain and organized by Telefónica. Carlos and Ángel presented their business plan and won a collaboration contract with the international phone company. RoboMadness will receive suppport and infraestructure from Telefónica.
RoboMadness also participated in RoboGames 2010 where proved its ability and skills building robots. In this tournament a RoboMadness team formed by Angel Hernandez and Jesús Domínguez managed to win medals in the three categories in which the team participated. Robomadness, being the first Spanish team participating in this international contest, brought two silver and one gold medals to Spain.
Last May, RoboMadness in collaboration with Blanca Ollero, participated in one of the largest entrepreneurship competitions of the world. I2P (Idea to product). I2P is a tournament were different business ideas are presented and compete with one another. RoboMadness ended up with the 1st place at the Saint Louis University level. It was also awarded at the regional level being one of the four qualified teams.
RoboMadness is currently working hard to finish its website www.RoboMadness.com and sign several collaboration contracts with different companies and research labs. The challenges ahead are numerous, however the enthusiasm and knowledge of RoboMadness team, along with the collaboration of RoboMadness´ friends will make of this project, an international business with a promising future.
