Since its premiere in 2002, the Interpretation of Spanish Song summer courses have introduced the rich heritage of Spanish art song to voice, piano and guitar students from the world's foremost music schools and conservatories. The Saint Louis University, Madrid Campus, is pleased to welcome the collaboration of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid for this year's program and introduce an expanded offering that includes the repertoire of Latin America.

Founded 40 years ago, the Madrid Campus is one of the three campuses of Saint Louis University and was the first foreign university officially recognized by the Madrid province higher education authorities. Located in the city's university quadrant, the campus is comprised of five buildings, which house classrooms, a library, cafeteria, art and music studios and four full-service multimedia labs. Between 650-700 undergraduate and graduate students study on the Madrid Campus during the academic year.

Since its founding in 1830 by royal decree, the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid has been the dynamic center of music instruction and education for generations of Spanish artists. The Conservatory is located in the museum district of central Madrid and offers classrooms, practice rooms, a performance auditorium and one of the most important music libraries in the world with approximately 130,000 books, 11,000 musical manuscripts and 3,000 hours of recorded music, all at the disposal of students and faculty alike.
