JULIO ALEXIS MUÑOZ
Piano Accompaniment and Vocal Repertoire
Upon completion of his formal training in the Conservatories of Las Palmas and Madrid, Julio-Alexis Muñoz received a scholarship to continue his preparation of repertoire in the Menuhin Music Academy-Gstaad in collaboration with Alberto Lysy, David Gueringas, Ana Chumachenko, Radu Aldulescu and Louis Kentner. In 1991 he completed additional post-graduate work in Budapest at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music where he studied under Marta Gulyas, Peter Nagy and Ferenc Rados.
Mr. Muñoz is known not only for his performances of the Spanish vocal repertoire and chamber music in concert halls in Europe, North America, the Near East and Asia, but also for maintaining a career as a soloist -touring with orchestras such as the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria- and particularly for his introduction of contemporary Spanish compositions to audiences worldwide.
Julio Alexis Muñoz has held the position of professor of piano in the Conservatorio Profesional de la Comunidad de Madrid, pianist for the Cursos Internacionales de Música en Compostela (in Santiago de Compostela) and has collaborated with Teresa Berganza and Manuel Cid in the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia. Since 1991 he has been a professor of vocal repertoire in the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid.
