JUAN ANTONIO ÁLVAREZ PAREJO
Piano Accompaniment and Vocal Repertoire
A native of Madrid, Álvarez Parejo has played in the world's top theaters and auditoriums, including Carnegie Hall, Covent Garden, Milan's La Scala, the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna. He often accompanies the Spanish baritone Iñaki Fresán, with whom he has offered recitals in Buenos Aires, Jerusalem and numerous cities in Spain, to wide critical and public acclaim. He has recorded a number of albums with Teresa Berganza, María Bayo and María José Montiel, and has done various recordings for Spanish radio and television. A professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid since 2003, Álvarez Parejo is in charge of a new vocal accompaniment class at the school. This will be the second year that Juan Antonio collaborates with Saint Louis University (Madrid) in our summer music program.
