Volunteer opportunities
Community ESL: 22 – 36 positions
Every semester Community ESL offers between 11 and 16 free ESL classes to the local community. Volunteers choose if they prefer one 1 ½ hour class (on either Monday or Tuesday) or two 1 hour classes a week (on Mon-Weds or Tues-Thurs). The classes start at 7 pm. Volunteers are put in teams of two or three per class and receive a short training session before the course starts. The university facilitates all the equipment and advice that volunteers wish, although students are given almost complete autonomy if they want it and are encouraged to be independent and creative.
These classes provide both useful experience and a wonderful opportunity to meet Spaniards from outside the university (and to practice Spanish!).
