C.S.I. Villafranca de los Barros
The original and largest C.S.I. is located in Extremadura, the rugged westernmost province of Spain known as the land of the conquistadores. The camp is hosted by Colegio San José, which features a large boarding school in a rural setting, complete with football fields and pools. C.S.I.’s partner camp for Spaniards, Operación Inglés, draws native Spanish-speaking students from all over western and southern Spain, making this C.S.I. camp perfect for the independent student who is excited about total immersion with students from one of Spain’s most traditional and less travelled regions. On weekends, together with your new friends, you’ll visit adventure sites in the nearby mountains, where you’ll have the chance to play paintball, canoe and even camp on a small island!
C.S.I. Buitrago
The splendid medieval walled city of Buitrago de Lozoya, located in the mountains just north of the city of Madrid, is home to our second camp. Hosted by the Colegio Santa María del Castillo, this camp features modern boarding school facilities, an Olympic-sized indoor pool, and nearby swimming and boating opportunities on the Lozoya River. As the Buitrago Operación Inglés camp draws mostly Madrileños (natives of Madrid), C.S.I. Buitrago is a fantastic opportunity for pioneering students interested in living and studying with urban Spanish students in a rural setting.
C.S.I. Salamanca
The historic city of Salamanca is home to our third and smallest camp. With a maximum of 50 students, this two-week day camp offers more one-on-one time with our expert language instructors. In Salamanca, you’ll experience urban life outside the main metropolis of Madrid, living with a local host family. As part of the experience, you´ll also explore Salamanca’s World Heritage sites and magnificent parks, as well as surrounding cities such as Ávila and Segovia. The local Spaniards attending the Operación Inglés day camp have had very little exposure to English, making this camp a wonderful opportunity for students wishing to act as ambassadors of their language!
