FRANCISCAN NUNS’ SOUP KITCHEN

Only a 3 minute walk from the SLU-Madrid Campus, the soup kitchen run by Franciscan Sisters feeds over 300 individuals a day.  SLU students provide very valuable volunteer assistance, helping in the kitchen (Monday through Friday) between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm, as well as by helping to organize and maintain the clothing the nuns receive for distribution to those in need.  Help is also occasionally needed in maintaining the small garden at the site.  Interested?  Contact campus minister Ana Aizpún (aaizpun@slu.edu) or SLU student Francisco Hohn (fhohn@slu.edu).
