II Festival Internacional de Magia de Madrid: The world’s most outstanding magicians come to Madrid: Jorge Blass hosts this festival that features acts by An Ha Lim (Corea), Arno (France), Charlie Frye (U.S.A.), and Raymond Crowe (Australia). Shows daily: February 22-26 and February 29-March 4. Teatro Circo Price (C/Ronda de Atocha, 35; Metro stops: Embajadores/Atocha).

For affordable food that is "simple, wholesome, nourishing and delicious," try Le Pain Quotidien. Its community table is a great way to meet Madrileños.

Marc Chagall: The first major retrospective in Spain on the Russian artist's work. February 14-May 20. Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (Paseo del Prado, 8; Metro: Atocha/Banco de España) and The Caja Madrid Foundation (Plaza de San Martín, 1; Metro stops: Sol, Opera or Callao).
