Final reminder that those who are currently in University Housing and wish to continue in University Housing for either Summer Session I or Summer Session II must  inform Margarita Casado (housing-madrid@slu.edu) and then make payment before April 25th. Without payment, no room for the summer will be reserved or guaranteed.

Thank you to those who voted last week in support of the efforts of five SLU-Madrid students who posted a video introducing their entry in the Hult Global Online Competition to identify a solution to the global water crisis.

Administrative Support Scholarship: The Financial Aid department is now accepting Administrative Support Scholarship applications for the upcoming summer sessions as well as for the next academic year (Fall 2011/Spring 2012). Please note: all current students holding a Administrative Support Scholarship must reapply if they want a Administrative Support Scholarship position for the upcoming Summer, Fall and Spring semesters!  Administrative Support Scholarships are given on a "first come, first served" basis, and so early application is encouraged. The application form is available here >>. The deadline for applying for a Summer Session grant is April 30, and the deadline for Fall 2011/Spring 2012 is June 30. Completed applications may be sent to emccrear@slu.edu or may be left in the Financial Aid mailbox located in the Admissions Office.

From Thursday, March 17 through Friday, April 1, the Registrar Office will observe special hours, being open each day (Monday-Friday) from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Win a gift certificate with your writing!  Until April 29, the Languages & Literature Division will be accepting student contributions for the 2011 Undergraduate Writing Prizes.  Categories include academic writing in English, and creative writing in both English and Spanish.  More information and the application form are available at the Writing Prize website. Students are also invited to consider submitting their writing to the 2011 Norman Mailer High School and College Writing Awards for Creative Nonfiction (deadline: April 28).

Student Life “Best Spring 2011 Photo Contest” – win a prize!  Share with Student Life your photos of academic and non-academic trips, day-trips, sports and service opportunities in which you have participated or will be participating. You can also share photos of your host family, or of campus friends enjoying Madrid sights during this Spring 2011 semester.   On Tuesday, May 3, the Student Life Team will choose the best photographs and award prizes! >>

And another chance to share your photos – the LLC (Language Learning Center) on SLU’s St. Louis Campus is eager to display students’ study abroad and travel photos. Stuck on your homework?  Need help with your English?  With your Spanish?  The English Writing Center and the Spanish Language Center are located in the entry area of Manresa Hall.   The schedule of the English Writing Center is: Mondays & Wednesdays, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, and Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm. The Spanish Language Center is open Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, and Tuesday & Thursdays, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
