Congratulations to Profesor Eduardo Fernández-Cruz Sarrate, who on December 16 at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid successfully defended his dissertation, with a qualification of "Sobresaliente Cum Laude," entitled, La Tipología del Fumador Como Determinante de las Opciones Terapéuticas para Dejar de Fumar: Estudio Analítico del Cuestionario "Reasons for Smoking Scale."

Thank You!  In many ways, SLU-Madrid students, faculty and staff have shown their generosity to those outside the campus community during the fall semester.  Recently, 24 individuals volunteered to give blood during the Cruz Roja (Red Cross) blood drive, 8 SLU students on Thanksgiving Day helped out at the local soup kitchen, and many people ate pancakes last week to raise additional funds (60 €) for the same good cause.  Also, this year’s December clothing drive – continuing through December 22nd – has brought in many warm donations to support those in need.  And, of course, many students this past semester taught English to madrileños through our campus’s Community ESL Program.  On behalf of all those who have benefitted…  Thank You!

The next issue of the Billiken News will be sent out on Monday, January 10.  In the meantime, the Billiken wishes everyone blessed holidays and a restful break!
