The Ignatian Pilgrimage Retreat in Loyola, scheduled for the weekend of October 22-24
, takes place in the beautiful Basque countryside of northern Spain at the birthplace of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).  The retreat, which focuses on the goals and ideals that shaped the life of Ignatius, will give retreatants an opportunity to reflect upon the direction of their own lives.  Because the University subsidizes half of the retreat cost, the price for students is only 90€, which includes transportation, lodging and great meals!  Interested in learning more about the Loyola Retreat?  Talk with Marta, or Ana or Father Jim in the Student Life Offices.

OPPORTUNITIES & INVITATIONS

A new fascinating idea is about to take form. If you are interested in debating just like the United Nations and in gaining knowledge about issues that concern the world and how to solve them, then you should consider participating in the chartering process of a Model United Nations Club. The aim is to meet regularly and debate resolutions UN-style. The whole project will be rounded off by working towards attending Europe’s largest MUN-conference in London aimed at university students. To help with the chartering process, feel free to come to an informational meeting at 2:00 pm, this Friday, the 15th, in PRH 8.

Piedras Vivas is carried out on the third Friday of each month with students from the Universidad de Comillas, the Spanish Jesuit university in Madrid.  Participants visit monuments in Madrid in order to appreciate the beauty that surrounds them while prayerfully reflecting upon their own lives in silence. The first Piedras Vivas of the fall semester takes place this Friday, the 15th, from 6:15 – 7:30 pm.  Meet at the statue of Felipe III in the Plaza Mayor at 6:15 pm.
