SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
SLU-Madrid Campus Ambassadors are selected student leaders who, upholding the University’s mission, commit themselves to representing the University at a variety of campus programs and events.  In turn, Ambassadors are given a number of special opportunities for personal and professional development.  If you are interested in learning more about what it means to be a Campus Ambassador, you are invited to contact Ariadne Ferro in Student Life and to attend one of two informational sessions being held in mid-March (Monday, the 15th, at 2:00 pm, and Tuesday, the 16th, at 2:00 pm).  Please note: April 14 is the deadline to apply to be a Campus Ambassador for the 2010-2011 Academic Year. >>

This Spring's theater production, "Spoon River", will be presented Thursday and Friday, April 22 and 23, at 20:00, with a special noon performance on the 23rd at the Colegio Mayor Elias Ahuja (c/ Rector Royo Villanova, 4). An adaptation of "Spoon River Anthology" by Edgar Lee Masters, the show presents a cross section of life, death, love and scandal in a 19th century Midwestern town, through the mouths of its men and women, all of whom speak to us from beyond the grave. Adapted and directed by Cary Barney with a cast of ten student actors, "Spoon River" also includes musical performances by voice and piano students. Admission is free.

Help raise money for the Bokatas project!  See a play in Spanish!  The Asociación Bokatas will be selling tickets to the play "Un sombrero de paja de Italia," performed by the parents of the Colegio Nuestra Señora del Recuerdo.  This annual event gives NGO's the opportunity to raise funds for their organization by letting each group sell tickets for 10€.  Of those 10€, the colegio only collects 0.90€, with the other 9.10€ going to the NGO!  The performances are April 11, 16, and 18th.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to see a great play and help raise funds for those less fortunate!  Volunteers from Bokatas will be selling tickets on campus from 10-1 in the patio of Padre Rubio hall (weather permitting) on Thursday March 25, Tuesday April 6, and Thursday April 9th.  For more information about the play or the Bokatas project, please contact Gina Gailis in Campus Ministry at ggailis@slu.edu.

Campus Ministry thanks everyone who stopped by the St. Patrick’s Day Pancake Breakfast last week.  Over 80 euros was raised to benefit the earthquake victims in Chile.
