SLU-Madrid Campus Ambassadors are selected student leaders who, upholding the University’s mission, commit themselves to representing the University at a variety of campus programs and events.  In turn, Ambassadors are given a number of special opportunities for personal and professional development.  If you are interested in learning more about what it means to be a Campus Ambassador, you are invited to contact Ariadne Ferro in Student Life and to attend one of two informational sessions being held in mid-March (Monday, the 15th, at 2:00 pm, and Tuesday, the 16th, at 2:00 pm).  Please note: April 14 is the deadline to apply to be a Campus Ambassador for the 2010-2011 Academic Year. >>

Planning to stay in University Housing (either in a piso or with a señora) during Summer I and/or Summer II academic sessions?   Please inform housing-madrid@slu.edu no later than March 17.  (To confirm a summer housing reservation, a non-refundable 500€ payment to the Finance Office will be required by April 15).

Daylight Savings Time – with a Difference!  On March 14, the United States will begin Daylight Savings Time; however, Spain does not begin DST until March 28.  And so, for two weeks this month, there will be one less hour difference between Spain and the U.S.  For example, there will be only six hours difference between Madrid and St. Louis.

Applications being sought for the position of Administrative Assistant to the Director of Finance & Operations >>

Five additional spots available for trip to Morocco, March 31 - April 4. Travel on an overnight bus to Algeciras, cross the strait of Gibraltar and spend 4 days immersed in the Moroccan culture. Volunteering – Soup Kitchen and Bokatas:  Students regularly have the opportunity to help to feed the hungry at a local Soup Kitchen.  Also, a group of students join students from the Universidad de Comillas every Tuesday night to make sandwiches and feed the homeless.  If you would like to join either, or both, of these volunteer programs, please contact Gina Gailis in the Student Life Office or by e-mail at ggailis@slu.edu.

SLU Madrid has prepared a trip to Argentina and Uruguay from May 12-24.  Students interested in learning more should contact the Student Life Office.  (Deadline for application is March 11, and the minimum number of students required for this trip is 14.)
