Eligibility: First-year and continuing U.S. and international students who begin their undergraduate programs at the Madrid Campus.

Origin and Purpose
: The mix of full-time resident and study abroad students is unique to our campus. It allows us to offer a variety and depth of academic and extracurricular options not found in other programs designed exclusively for the study abroad experience. We currently offer a limited number of partial tuition/work-study scholarships to exceptional applicants who meet the minimum financial need criteria. In addition, we would like to expand our program to reach a wider base of students. In most cases, we're able to offer similar help to those awardees who transfer to our home campus to finish their undergraduate programs.

Jorge Moya

International Undergraduate
Fall 2002-present
From: Culiacán, México
Major: Electrical Engineering
Scholarship (2003-2004): 33% tuition discount + 15% work study award

While assigned to the Information Technology (IT) department for his work-study hours, Jorge wrote the code for the new Madrid campus database, which is now up and running – a remarkable achievement for even the most sophisticated of software programmers.

Jorge celebrated his feat on his feet, walking the length of the Camino de Santiago, Spain´s medieval pilgrimage trail, in the summer of 2004. As his family could no longer continue to support his studies, he worked as a student assistant on a full-time basis in our IT department for one year to save up the funds necessary to pay his tuition share for his final two years of studies at the Missouri campus.
