Students who already receive US federal financial aid most likely will be able to apply this to their semester abroad. Some colleges and universities allow their specific grants and/or scholarships to be used when studying off campus. Students should contact their home school International Programs or Finance Office for more information.
The Madrid Campus gives priority for work-study positions to its permanent students. However, visiting students interested in holding a work-study position (which entitles them to a 15 percent tuition discount in exchange for ten hours of on-campus work per week) may apply at the start of the semester.
For students wishing to supplement their finances, citizens of non-European Union countries holding a student card are now allowed to work off campus for up to twenty hours a week. These jobs require some degree of fluency in Spanish.
Students will also find opportunities in Madrid for jobs tutoring English, other foreign languages, and the sciences.
