Apostilles of the Hague (Apostillas de la Haya)
If you are interested in having your diploma and/or transcript validated by a foreign (non-US) government, you may need to obtain an Apostille of the Hague. Check with the Department/Ministry of Education in your home country for the specific requirements. Those applying for civil servant positions in Spain must have their degrees validated (homologado), which requires Apostilles for both your official transcript and your diploma. There is a $10 fee per Apostille, please make payment at the Madrid Finance Office at the end of the semester right before you complete your studies and bring the receipt to the Registrar Office together with the completed Application for Apostille of the Hague.
The Graduation Fee is assessed to all graduating students, regardless of participation in commencement activities. You do not have to pay this fee when you turn in your application as it will be billed to your student account.
Fee amount for both Baccalaureate and Masters Students = $75.00. There is no charge to participate in the Commencement Ceremony. If you have questions regarding this fee, contact the Finance Office (firstname.lastname@example.org).
