Requirements for the Minor

A minor in Political Science may be attained by taking 18 hours (six courses) distributed either in:

A General Track:

• Three courses in the four major subfields of Political Science:
• American Politics
• Comparative Politics
• International Relations
• Political Thought
• Three Political Science electives

*One of the six courses must be at the 400 level.

OR

A Specialized International Relations Track:

• Three courses in International Relations, selected from the following:
• POLS-100 Introduction to Politics
• POLS-160 Introduction to International Politics
• POLS-252 Introduction to African Politics
• POLS-264 International Terrorism
• POLS-351 Rebirth of Democracy
• POLS-356 Political Processes in Latin America
• POLS-465 The Use of Force in International Relations
• POLS-454 or POLS-461
• Two Political Science electives
