Internships

One of the requirements for an International Studies degree is that students complete an internship (ISTD 491, 3 credit hours). The internship site may be local but it must have an international component, and should ideally enhance the students' second major, as well. Depending on the student’s second major, there are other options available to satisfy this requirement, such as: Field Placement/Praxis in El Salvador, POLS 468 Foreign Service Internship, etc.

Students are encouraged to source their own internship site. Students are advised to review the Center for International Studies Internship Policies, located at this link. It is imperative to review the requirements on the Internship Agreement Form and have the internship approved by an international studies advisor prior to starting the internship.   Internship Agreement Form.
