Computer Science

The Department of Science and Engineering offers students the opportunity to pursue a course of study leading to a minor in Computer Science. This minor is designed for students who wish to learn about the discipline of computing while pursuing a major in another field of study. Students in this minor take the same courses as do Computer Science majors, but fulfill their requirements upon completion of 20 hours of coursework.

The minor in Computer Science can be completed at the Madrid Campus.

The Madrid Campus’ Minor in Computer Science allows students to complement their major areas of study in:

Requirements:

  1. CSCI-140: Introduction to Computer Science (3 hours)
  2. CSCI-150: Introduction to Object Oriented Programming (4 hours)
  3. CSCI-180: Data Structures (4 hours)
  4. MATH-135: Discrete Mathematics (3 hours)
  5. CSCI-224: Computer architecture (3 hours)
  6. CSCI-290: Object-Oriented Software Design (3 hours)
