“When I heard that Saint Louis University’s Madrid Campus was offering an M.A. in Spanish, I knew that it would be the perfect place to fulfill my professional goals and pursue my passion for Spanish literature. I was right; it has been a defining experience. The professors at the SLU-Madrid campus challenged us, inspired us and guided us throughout the program. I was extremely impressed by the wide range of classes, the professors’ level of expertise and the numerous activities offered to enrich my experience here in Spain. What an incredible opportunity to see the literature come alive! The program offered class trips, theatre performances and several conferences on campus that allowed us to meet with authors and experts in the field. I also had the opportunity to work as an intern part-time in the Student Life office which gave me work experience in the academic setting and helped offset the cost of the program and living abroad.
I was so inspired by the program and the professors here at SLU-Madrid that I have decided to effect a career change and continue my studies at the doctoral level in Spanish literature. I look forward to this next step and I thank the Spanish department for their guidance.”
