Saint Louis University – Madrid Campus tuition fees are competitive,
some 33 to 50 percent lower than you will find at comparable
universities in North America. As we work to assure that the cost of
obtaining a SLU education is affordable to students from diverse
socio-economic ackgrounds, we offer a variety of financial aid
opportunities to deserving students.
Assistantships
Assistantships provide experience in areas of professional
responsibility related to the student's field of study.
For the first year of studies – covering the fall and spring terms– MA Spanish students may apply for one of the Manresa Assistantship,
with a maximum value of 2,500 €, applicable at the rate of 250€ per
enrolled 3-credit course at Saint Louis University – Madrid Campus. In
accepting an assistantship, the MA Spanish student agrees to provide
75 hours per semester (approximately 5 hours per week) of service to
the Saint Louis University – Madrid Campus Languages and Literature
Division for the duration of the assistantship. Assistantship applications should be submitted by March 1st for Fall, and by September 1st for Spring.
MA Spanish students entering into the second year of studies are
eligible to reapply for one of the Manresa Assistantships for the fall
and/or spring semesters. (Assistantships are not available for summer
session study.) MA Spanish students may also apply for an Administrative Support Scholarship position.
Included among second-year Assistantships are positions to teach
Spanish under the supervision of a Madrid Campus faculty member, an
opportunity that strengthens the quality of a student’s professional
preparation and marketability. Applicants for these positions must:
English Language Assistantships
Saint Louis University – Madrid Campus has an agreement for academic
cooperation with High Schools in Madrid. The purpose of the
agreement is to identify eligible SLU-Madrid students interested in
providing service to High Schools in the Comunidad de Madrid as language. In addition to the great experience and the
interaction with students and faculty of Spanish High Schools, the
language assistants receive an economic compensation. SLU-Madrid
