The Theater Program in Saint Louis University is part of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts that includes programs in Music, Studio Art and Art History. The University offers a B.A. in Theatre that produces graduates who are prepared to enter M.F.A. programs in theatre and M.A. programs in drama, or to enter the job market for actors and technicians for theatrical productions. Graduates also creatively market the variety of skills that they have acquired as theatre majors for use in non-theatrical venues such as law, training, sales, promotion, marketing and other types of presentational activities.
Each semester, the Madrid Campus Theater Program stages full-length productions culminating in public performance in Spanish or English (or both). These productions challenge students to consider diverse values, viewpoints and expressions of the creative imagination, while providing them an opportunity to learn and practice theater protocol and craft in a collaborative atmosphere.
