SPAN-493 Literature and Film of Desire
Prerequisite: SPAN-410, SPAN-415 and SPAN-420, or advanced fluency
Curriculum: Fulfills Spanish major or minor; fulfills upper-division literature requirement for A&S and Business; IAS Certificate elective
Description: El enigma del deseo. Focus on some Spanish literary masterpieces and novels, and their interpretation of desire, based on platonic and psychoanalytic notions. Analysis of works by Zorrilla, Galdós and García Morales, and films by Buñuel and Almodóvar.
