Description: En un lugar de la Mancha, de cuyo nombre... In-depth study of Cervantes’ masterpiece, providing a structural and historical insight into the birth of the modern novel. Focus on Cervantine aesthetic and novelistic theories within the historical context of Spanish Golden Age society, and the wider cultural contexts of Renaissance and Baroque ideology and art. Local excursion to Cervantes’ birthplace and University of Alcalá de Henares.
