SPAN-429 Contemporary Latin American Novel

Prerequisite: SPAN-410, SPAN-415 and SPAN-420, or advanced fluency
Curriculum:
Fulfills Spanish major or minor; fulfills upper-division literature requirement for A&S and Business; IAS Certificate elective
Description:
Analysis of the twentieth-century Latin American novel. Emphasis on the development and most significant directions of the so-called boom. Studies of the works of Alejo Carpentier, Ernesto Sábato, Carlos Fuentes, Julio Cortázar, Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa and Elena Poniatowska.
