SOC-345 The Sociology of Development: Latin America

Description:
Life and death south of the border. Overview of the social and economic development processes in the region, with analysis of both reformist and revolutionary modes of development. Review of different theoretical models for understanding the dynamics of growth and change in Latin America, and the use of case studies to assess these models. Course includes meetings with Madrid-based NGOs committed to sustainable development.
