POLS-454 The European Union: Politics and Political Economy

Prerequisite: Senior standing, ECON 190
Curriculum: Fulfills the Senior Inquiry and IR core requirement; fulfills social science requirement for A&S, Business and Engineering
Description: Europe today. Review of the origins and history of European integration; examination of the E.U. governance model, its institutional framework and the role of lobbying within the Union; and analysis of the mechanics of economic and monetary integration. The course also explores the role of the E.U.’s most influential member-states, as well as the U.S.-E.U. relationship.
