Course: SPAN-418 Spanish Culture and Civilization
Prerequisite(s): SPAN-410 and SPAN-415, or equivalent
Curriculum: 3 credits. Fulfills Spanish major or minor (native speakers may not enroll); IAS course. Additional trip fees apply.
Description: An interdisciplinary study of human presence in the Iberian peninsula from the beginning of time. Analysis of geographical, historical, cultural and literary factors in the make-up of the nation; review of the development and main characteristics of a distinctively Spanish art, with emphasis on the twentieth century. Course requires a mandatory academic trip to a destination of relevance in Spain.
