ENGL-432 Later Shakespeare
Prerequisite: ENGL-190; recommended, at least one 200-level English course.
Curriculum: Fulfills Upper Division Literature Requirement for A&S and Business; honors credit available for eligible students.
Description: The language, characters and dramatic techniques of Shakespeare’s plays, and what they say about love, war, family, government, honor, justice, madness and mercy. Special attention to how the plays partake of the same sources, genres, stock characters and theatrical conventions of his age. Course excursion to England to attend current Royal Shakespeare Company’s productions and tour the Globe Theatre.
