ECON-431 Exchange Rates & the Global Economy

Offered: May 19 - June 6, an intensive three-week course
Prerequisite: ECON-312
Curriculum: Fulfils International Business/Economics requirement.
Description: What moves foreign currency prices and a nation's balance of payment results. Focus on real world international economic problems with emphasis on: global imbalances and their effect on exchange rate, production and firm's pricing and production decisions; currency crisis, with particular focus on Asia's exchange rate and balance of payments crisis; European Union and the Euro, and their effects on firm and country performance; international competitiveness and firms' direct investment decisions.
