ECON-420 Money and Banking

Curriculum: Fulfills Economics requirement (pending approval)
Description: The role of money, interest rates and the banking system on the economy. An introduction to the functioning of the banking system and other financial institutions that operate nationally and internationally. Topics include monetary policy, regulation and deregulation of the financial system, and the role of international financial institutions in an era of globalization. Formal theories applied to recent case studies.
