ECON-395 Political Economy of the European Union

Prerequisite: ECON-190 or equivalent
Curriculum: Fulfills International Business/Economics requirement
Description: Fortress Europe. Short review of the origins of the European Union. Focus on economic integration policy, the role of Europe in the world economy and world politics, and the future of the euro as a new reserve currency. Emphasis on U.S.-European relations. Course includes an excursion to Brussels to visit the European Parliament and European Commission to meet with interest groups and lobbyists.
