ECON-190 Principles of Economics

Prerequisite: MATH-120 or equivalent
Curriculum: Business core requirement; IR core requirement; fulfills social science requirement for A&S and Engineering; honors credit available for eligible students
Description: How markets work (and when they don’t). Intensive review of micro- and macroeconomics, with emphasis on supply and demand, money and banking, the impact of fiscal and monetary policies, competition and market structure, and international trade and finance. Focus on differences between European and U.S. economic institutions.
