EAS-101 Earth Systems I: Solid Earth (Volcanoes of Spain)

Curriculum: Fulfills natural science requirement for A&S, Business and Engineering
Description: On the origin and structure of our planet: plate tectonics, crustal evolution, surface and groundwater hydrology, and so on. Application of geophysical techniques to the understanding of volcanoes, with focus on volcanic activity in the Iberian peninsula and Canary Islands, where students carry out field studies during a long-weekend visit.

Mandatory Trip: Lanzarote (Canary Islands) - estimated cost, €500; fees must be paid by first day of class .
