CHEM-164 Introduction to Chemistry II
Syllabus
Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in CHEM-163 or equivalent
Curriculum: Fulfills science requirement for A&S and Business; fulfills requirement for Chemistry and Biology majors
Description: Continuation of CHEM-163. Study of chemical equilibrium, Le Chartelier’s principles, aqueous and acid-base equilibria, solutions, titration, chemical thermodynamics, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, chemistry of hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon; the nonmetallic elements, metals and metallurgy, chemistry of the transition elements, and coordination compounds.
