Curriculum: Fulfills science requirement for A&S and Business; honors credit available for eligible students
Description: The science of substances: their composition, combination and change. Study of atomic theory, the structure of the atom, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, electronic structures of atoms, periodic properties of the elements, basic concepts of chemical bonding, Lewis symbols and the ionic bonding, molecular geometry and bonding theories, gases, solutions, intermolecular forces, liquids and solids, chemistry of the environment, and chemical kinetics.
