CHEM-153 Principles of Chemistry I
Syllabus
Curriculum: Fulfills requirements for Nursing and Allied Health Professions and Education students only
Description: Fundamental concepts and principles of inorganic, organic, and biochemistry, as well as basic laboratory techniques pertaining to these three areas of chemistry. Topics include matter, atoms, chemical bonds and reactions, hybridization, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and a discussion of biomolecules (lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins) followed by descriptions of their roles in metabolism.
