Curriculum: Art History elective
Description: The significance of the Roman Empire on the development of Mediterranean cultures, and the legacy of the Greco-Roman tradition on the art and culture of the Renaissance and the school of Neoclassicism. An examination of works of art created for the powerful Emperors as manifestations of wealth, power, and greatness, and of Roman achievements in architecture and engineering. An introduction to Roman iconography and mythology through the study of painting and sculpture.
