ARTH-393 Art in Spain
Curriculum: Art History elective; IAS Certificate elective (Spanish section only)
Description: From Altamira to the avant-garde. Survey of the great cultures of Spain, and some of the most important works by Spanish masters (El Greco, Velázquez, Murillo, Goya, Picasso). Emphasis on painting and architecture in order to understand art in its historical context. Supplementary visits to museums in Madrid.
