Student Life Day Trips
Student Life organizes cultural Day trips at the beginning of each session and also collaborates in the logistical organization of Faculty-led trips related to courses (Academic Trips) and others of general interest.
Please feel free to email or stop by the Student Life Office (Padre Rubio Hall) for more information about any of these non-academic trips. Email: studentlife-madrid@slu.edu. Fees are non-refundable on or after the date the excursion takes place.
Academic Trips
Recognizing travel as an integral part of our academic program, the University organizes Faculty-led trips each semester as experiential components of coursework. These experiences not only provide the connections necessary to enhance learning, but are also a unique opportunity to learn and explore course content in a dynamic and hands-on manner.
As you peruse the academic year schedule, notice that travel opportunities span several continents and are integrated into a wide range of disciplines: sciences, economics, politics, history, languages, art, theology, etc.
Please note that the trips listed for the current or future semesters are subject to change or cancellation.
Mandatory trips must be paid by the first Add/Drop deadline of the given semester. Students will be responsible for making full payment for the trips if after add/drop day they appear enrolled in Banner in classes that require a mandatory trip.
Optional trips are open to students in their corresponding courses and sometimes open to other students too. Payment of trip fees reserves a student’s participation in optional trips; however, all trips are subject to a minimum and maximum number of students.
For more information, please contact the Student Life Office (Padre Rubio Hall or studentlife-madrid@slu.edu). In the case of Faculty-led academic trips, you may also contact the professor of the corresponding course.
