International Study Abroad from the Madrid Campus
Direct Exchange Programs
Students applying for direct exchange programs apply first to Saint Louis University, Madrid. Once an SLU Madrid candidate has been selected, the student will apply to the institution. Students accepted into direct exchange programs continue to pay their tuition to SLU Madrid.
Saint Louis University has direct exchange programs with the following schools:

Kansai Gaidai is conveniently located between Kyoto and Osaka. SLU Madrid students are admitted to the Asian Studies Program along with other international students. The course allows students to study the Japanese language and other cultural courses (calligraphy, sculpture and the traditional tea ceremony) as well as regular university classes in English. Students are housed with other international students.

Sogang University was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1960 and is the only Jesuit institution in Korea. It is located in the heart of Seoul. The university, in addition to offering a Korean language program and normal academic subjects in English, offers an internship program for study abroad students. Visiting students may live in university dorms or in university-approved boarding houses.

PUC is located in Gávea, a neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, close to both the beach and the forest. Study abroad students have the opportunity to take classes in English as well as intensive Portuguese courses. Visiting students are housed with host families.

Vesalius is located in Brussels, the center of the European Community. Students take classes in English from a Dutch-speaking university, while living in a Dutch- and French- speaking city. Classes are small and internships are available for study abroad students.
